Riverbed Technology LLC has unveiled a comprehensive suite of enhancements to its Aternity Experience Platform, marking a decisive shift in how enterprises manage digital environments. By moving away from reactive, ticket-heavy frameworks, the company is signaling that the era of incident response is fading in favor of a zero disruption model. This approach relies on agentic AI to intercept and resolve performance bottlenecks before they impact end-user productivity.

Engineering an Autonomous IT Stack

The core of this release is not merely an incremental update but an architectural evolution. Riverbed is integrating application and network performance monitoring into a unified, agent-based foundation.

Central to this transformation is Riverbed IQ 4.0. Unlike standard AI copilots that merely summarize post-incident data, the 4.0 release introduces an agentic framework capable of executing authorized, closed-loop actions within existing IT workflows. By allowing IT teams to generate complex workflows through natural language prompts, Riverbed is effectively lowering the barrier to entry for managing highly distributed, hybrid infrastructures.

Enhancing Visibility and Conversational Control

To bridge the gap between human operators and machine intelligence, Riverbed introduced Riverbed Q. This conversational interface embeds directly into common collaboration suites, enabling technicians to interrogate system health and trigger automated remediations using plain language.

Visibility is further bolstered by Aternity High Fidelity Analytics. By capturing telemetry at one-second intervals, the platform minimizes the blind spots created by standard monitoring tools that aggregate data over longer, less granular periods. This high-frequency data collection is essential for catching the intermittent, ghost errors that often frustrate users in modern cloud-native environments.
